Pasir opened without a single usable photograph of the space. Their architect's renders were beautiful and looked nothing like the finished room, which had picked up dust, plants and a much better sense of humour along the way.

One long day, no crew, no lighting kit — just the shutters and the sun moving across the plaster. I photographed the store as a sequence, front door to back wall, so the set can be used as a walkthrough as easily as individual frames.

The short film exists for one job: to make somebody on a scooter stop, turn around and come in.
