Morning, unhurried

A small café with a big problem: every photograph they had was taken at midday with the overhead lights on, and it made a genuinely lovely room look like a departure lounge.

We shot from six to nine in the morning across two days, following the light down the counter. Drinks were made to order and photographed immediately, so the crema and the condensation are real.

The result is quiet, warm and a little empty on purpose — it gives the viewer somewhere to imagine sitting.
